The LIGASTIC ligaments intended to replace or reinforce an existing ligament. They must function for at least 6 months in ACL reinforcement cases and permanently for replacement cases.
They are made of Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET), knitted in non-deforming and non-warpable chains. The fibres are orientated longitudinally in the axis of the ligament and are straight and parallel at maximum extension. The warp knitting makes it possible to avoid the deformation of the weft fibers but provides very good flexibility. Porosity of 400μm facilitating colonisation allows the reinforcement or the remplacement.
Several references are available, following the different indications: knee surgery, ankle, shoulder or tendon reinforcement (Achille & patella).
