The implantation of Revolnerv® allows to maintaining both nervous extremities in relation. Nerve reconstruction mechanisms then work within the matrix, unaffected by external tissue stresses.

Due to its tubular architecture and composition, the Revolnerv® creates an environment favouring nerve regeneration.

Revolnerv® and autografts have been implanted in rats (n=12), after nervous section (10 mm) of the peroneal nerve. "Biomaterial 30(3): 363-373 (2009)"
The performance of the Revolnerv® is evaluated, compared two-two with autograft performance, thanks to the evaluation of the functionality of the muscle innervated by the operated nerve which allows to determine the recovery of the muscular functionality.
